- Emblematic of the famous supercar brand
If the Lamborghini brand is known for its extremely high-performance sports car and supercars, it is worth reminding that Ferrucio Lamborghini started his business by manufacturing tractors. Using reformed military equipment, he produced his own agricultural machines which were successful very quickly, mainly due to significant post-war demand. Also taking advantage of the aid egranted to farmers by the Italian government for the purchase of equipment made in Italy, Lamborghini expanded his range and gradually scaled up to an industrial dimension to become the third tractor manufacturer in the country.
This particular 1R model is equipped with twin-cylinder, air cooled diesel engine developing 26hp, linked to a four-speed gearbox and a reduction gear. According to a certificate from Klima-Lounge, who took over the rights of "Ferrucio Lamborghini Cento" (related to the three letters of the initial triangular logo created in 1948) and who's responsible for listing existing tractors, this 1R left the factory in 1964 fitted with its original engine and with its original colours (orange and blue), characteristic of the brand.
Since it was subject to a quality restoration, it is today in excellent condition and will usefully enrich any Lamborghini collection, in order to commemorate the origins of this manufacturer who has gone from producing the slowest and most plodding vehicles (in the most respectful way) to the most powerful supercars in history.
