1963 Elva Mk 7 For Sale

  • United Kingdom

Description

The Elva Mk 7 was a direct competitor for the Lotus 23B but was produced in much smaller numbers, with only 29 cars being produced by the factory. Despite being outnumbered the Mk 7 scored many successes in the UK and USA.

Chassis number 70/ 027 is a well-known and very competitive example which is eligible for several championships around the world including the HSCC Guards Trophy and Masters Series.

A very reliable and front running car in the right hands (with 2019 lap records at Donington and Silverstone), it also finished first on track in the 2016 Madgwick Cup at Goodwood.

Since 2016 the Elva has been the subject of a full chassis up professional rebuild, and has been maintained to a very high standard, including:

• Full chassis rebuild including a new roll bar to accommodate a taller driver
• Lotus twin cam 1600cc engine – freshly rebuilt by Geoff Richardson for 2019 season
• Rebuilt and period correct Mk4 Hewland gearbox

The car benefited from a huge amount of expenditure during this period and has only been used for occasional speed events since being purchased by the current owner in 2020.

Fitted with long range fuel tanks, and complete with HTP papers valid until 2029 and two sets of genuine Elva magnesium wheels and tyres.
