DESCRIPTION

In late 1999 Mitsubishi decided to launch a limited model to commemorate the legend ace Tommi Makinnen on him winning his fourth consecutive drivers’ championship in the World Rally Championship. With Tommi Makinnen himself having an input into how the car should perform and handle who else better to import the Rally guise into a road going car for the diehard World Rally Fans.

EXTERNAL

Finished in Mitsubishi Scotia White one of only five colours this model has ever been produced in, Panels sitting uniform with a deep glossy shine throughout. Without doubt one look at the front end of the Lancer Evolution Mk-IV and your drawn into the aerodynamically designed front colour coded bumper displaying lower air intakes which ensure the power outputs stabilized coupled with airflow ducting this has one intention to ensure maximum airflow reaches the engine and Turbo-intercooler as required. With two air vent grills sitting centre stage on the bonnet ensuring heat expulsions maintained at all time. With flared wheel arches front and rear and a subtle lower sill body kit running down each flank. The legendary colour coded boot spoiler sitting tall and proud with the livery continued on each end plate. Matching colour coded rear bumper again with Ralli Art livery and housing the iconic chrome rear exhaust pipe all in the very best of condition.

INTERNAL

Opening the passenger or driver’s door and your instantly drawn to the crisp fresh interior with EcsaineR suede over red centre panelling Recaro seats that sit in immaculate condition along with the legendary T. MAKINNEN EDITION embossed just below the head rest. The rears seats also carry the same EcsaineR suede fabric with red inner panels and present in the very best of condition. With matching front and rear door cards also carrying the EcsaineR suede all presented immaculately. The light grey fabric floor carpet remains in the best of condition having factory Mitsubishi Woven oven mats fitted, Headlining sitting in as new condition housing interior light to the centre and driver and passenger push button map reading lights to the front. The black dash sitting fade free and original with glovebox located on the passenger side with airbag located slightly above, On the left sits a square directional heater vent. In the centre a further square double directional heater vets located along with the factory fit push button digital time clock and round push button hazard warning switch. Digital Climate control heating panel sits neatly nestled into the dash working as intended. With original native music sound system fitted which happily talks to you in Japanese-Originality maintained at all times along with the back in the day factory fit cigarette lighter and pull out ashtray. The drivers binnacle’s finished in factory black with red lettering these are exclusive colours at the time of production, Tachometer sits to the left, Speedometer sitting in the centre(in kmh) displaying only 44465km(27629miles)from new, To the right the temperature and fuel gauge are located along with cursory warning lights which operate and extinguish as they should. The electrically operated door mounted mirror switch sits just to the right on the dash with another black square directional heater vent finishing of the driver’s side of the dash. A pull down cubby hole can be found on the lower section of the dash which operates as Mitsubishi intended. Fitted with the MOMO 3-spoke leather steering wheel finished eloquently with red stitching along with the black leather gear gator and black leather gear knob. Both steering wheel and gear knob show no wear and present in the very best of condition. The interiors a testament to its only owner who has lovingly cared and natured this example over its lifespan exposing how special this model still remains today.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Housing an inline 4-cylinder 2-litre 16-valve double overhead camshaft petrol engine(GF-CP9A) with 4G63 Turbocharger fitted producing 280bhp along with electronically controlled fuel injection, With permanent 4-wheel drive mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Drives Beautifully.

With Red Brembo callipers front and rear housing 17-inch ventilated grooved disc to the front and 16-inch ventilated grooved discs to the rear with diagonally split electronically controlled ABS braking diagonally split along with servo vacuum assistance ensure you have enough stopping power as and when required.

This particular model was first registered in Japan on the 01st February 2000, It then subsequently came over to the UK as a Japan import and registered within the UK on the 01st January 2024 with only 1 former keeper and low miles this is the model to have for the collection or to use on those dry sunny days.
