Vehicle history:
The BMW R90 S is considered by many connoisseurs to be the true "superbike of the seventies". With the introduction of the "/ 6" series in 1973, BMW entered the superbike league with two 900cc boxer engines. The touring version carried the type designation "R90/ 6" and the new, magnificent sportster "R90 S". For the first time, BMW hired a stylist, Hans Muth, who designed this bike. With its twin front disc brakes, racing-style seat, megaphone-shaped mufflers and cockpit trim, the R90 S looks like no BMW machine before it. Later R90 S models are also offered in two-tone "Daytona Orange" with red pinstripes. The R90 S has a redesigned seat with a small "ducktail" fairing and an additional tool tray under the seat. Standard equipment includes a complete tool kit and hand pump. This R90 S was delivered new in Bochum and has had only 2 owners.
