The DB7 Vantage Volante was launched at the same time as the coupe in 1999 and immediately became one of the world’s fastest convertibles. It shares the same body, chassis and engine of the closed version and is a wonderfully pretty car with the hood down. As one of the last made before DB7 production ended, this DB7 has a lovely colour specification and the addition of GT wheels gives this car an even more sporty feel.

- The Car -

This beautiful Aston was specified in Solent Silver with a Parchment and Pacific Blue leather and carpeted interior and with the V12 mated to the standard ZF 5 speed automatic transmission. The hood and cover are also in Pacific Blue and this operates perfectly. Options added include a different steering wheel and GT wheels, which give the car a more purposeful look to it.

Due to a meticulous servicing regime by all of its owners and after a recent detailing, this car is in an excellent condition and is ready to take the Spring driving and events season by storm.

- Its History -

Supplied new by Aston Martin main agent Lancaster of Reading and registered on the 10th of May 2004, this DB7 has had a total of 5 owners. Its first service was undertaken by HWM and then until September 2007 was subsequently serviced by Lancaster of Reading and Grange of Welwyn.

In 2008 and 2009, all servicing was undertaken by Murray Motor Company in Edinburgh.

In 2011, Aston Martin specialists Oselli Ltd. carried out the car’s servicing and at the end of 2011, they also rebuilt the gearbox and torque converter at 33, 357 miles.

From 2012 to 2015, the car was serviced yearly by Aston Martin specialist Four Ashes, with the suspension re-bushed and new radius arms in 2013 at 36, 170 miles.

In 2016 and until 2021, the car was serviced by Cotswold Prestige Cars, which included replacing an ABS sensor and both front springs in 2017 at 40, 938 miles.

Since 2022, the car has been cared for and serviced by Aston Martin specialists Chicane in Hampshire.

- On the Road -

As with all DB7 Vantage Volantes, the acceleration and pick-up are smooth across the rev range and when it comes to ride and road holding, the feel is one of control and stability. The GT wheels create a more sporting appeal and the Potenza Sport tyres give great grip. The steering and braking are good and progressive, feeding back well.

Visibility is generally very good and this Aston is most at home on long, relaxed journeys rather than short ones – though it is equally capable of both – and the sublime V12 eats up the miles. But the hood down creates an altogether different driving experience, which is the very point of it.

If you are looking for a late DB7 model that can be used both everyday and for special occasions, particularly as we head towards the Spring driving season, then this makes a very attractive proposition as well as being sensibly priced.
