At Hampshire Classics we have 42 years’ experience of taking care of beautiful cars and, as a specialist storage facility, we look after a number of incredible vehicles. Occasionally, we are asked to sell some of these cars and this is how we are able to offer this wonderful Rover Mini Cooper S Works for sale on behalf of the owner.
This particular vehicle benefits from an extensive service history including 23 services with it’s most recent carried out in January 2024. This vehicle is well known to us at Hampshire Classics, having previously stored the vehicle for the previous owner for approximately 5 years in it’s own Veloce Carcoon filtered airflow storage system, within our heated and dehumidified facility. We facilitated the sale from the previous owner to the current in July 2018 where it has covered less than 2000 miles since, whilst continuing to be kept within a Veloce Carcoon system.
This Mini Cooper S Works was originally supplied to the first owner as the standard 63 BHP derivative before being taken to John Cooper’s garage that was based in Sussex, operating between 2000 and 2003 before closing, for the upgrade performance kit they offered. This kit took the standard power and increased it by almost 50% to 90BHP giving it the “Cooper S” status. The upgrade was achieved by replacing the cylinder head, exhaust manifold and exhaust system, air filter, spark plugs and roller rockers. The brakes remained untouched as they were sufficient however the tyres were upgraded to 165 width tyres. The car is adorned with a plaque just inside the drivers door indicating it to be “Car No. S170”
