Here is a lovely , honest , example of a 65 Mustang Fastback, that i sold a few years ago, having purchased it from its long term owner, who had extensively upgraded and improved the car .
The car has only covered 73000 miles..
Since I sold it last , the car has been well cared for a steadily improved again by a real enthusiast, with the following works being carried out :
New FAST self-tuning fuel injection management system and MSD ignition system .. General service (fluids, filters, plugs, hoses) etc. front disc brakes fitted , prop shaft rebalanced- fuel hoses replaced- alternator replaced and mounting upgraded- exhaust mounting upgraded- fan thermostat upgraded- windscreen replaced- headliner replaced- door seals replaced .
The car benefits from a few desirable upgrades . The beautiful 289 V8 is now rebuilt and upgraded with Inglese Fuel injection, Aluminium heads etc, the engine now generates close to 350hp (rolling road tested) . The engine underwent a complete rebuild assisted by Jeff Bull, famous for building racing engines, with little mileage since the rebuild. Photos of the rebuild are available with the car with all documentation and invoices.
The car comes with original bill of sale showing the car was first sold in El Paso, Texas, having been manufactured in California .
The bodywork is largely original and in very good order. The car is very clean and tidy underneath.
The paintwork has some minor age related patina in places reflecting its age, but still presents very well .
The interior is also original, and so shows some honest minor wear in places, but nothing you'd want to change, in our opinion.
Electrical wiring has been replaced as part of the prior upgrade works, so everything is working and reliable. A modern , Mustang style radio with Aux and USB inputs is fitted.
In our opinon this is an excellent example and offers a fabulous driving experience and soundtrack ..
