BMW 2002 Baur Convertible. This is a rare RHD model of which only approx 250 ?? were made. Some articles you read say 90 odd. Im not sure which is correct but a very rare car. Car was fully restored around 7 or 8 years ago at a cost well in excess of the asking price. We have the current V5, showing 9 previous owners, owners handbook, some old MOTs and receipts for some parts used during the restoration. It really is a stunning example and must be one of the nicest available currently.
Body - Car was fully restored as mentioned. At that point it had a new bonnet, wings, boot floors, sills and more. It was fully resprayed in BMW Chamonix White. The floor is all painted underneath as well, and not stone chipped or undersealed.. At the time of restoration the chassis and all cavities were given the waxoyl treatment to protect it. The car is still fantastic underneath as well as up top. Chrome mouldings were all renewed as well. Bumpers are good. Roof was replaced as well during the restoration process.
Mechanics - The engine was rebuilt by JEM Engines at the time of resto. All running gear was either replaced or refurbished. The car starts, runs and drives well and feels nice and tight. Underbonnet is lovely. Exhaust is a stainless steel item. Car is currently running as a Historic Vehicle, therefore MOT exempt but was MOTd regularly up until 2018 / 2019.
Interior - Seats did have a bit work as well but all look as they should. Interior is very tidy. Roof all works as it should and top panel fits properly into the boot on the proper brackets.
Wheels - Original Alloys which have been refurbished with Avon 175/ 70/ 13 Tyres.
