DESCRIPTION
The golf ‘R’ series originated in 2002 taking over the top spot from the 'GTi' examples, With the ‘R’ representing the newly developed ‘R32’ power house engine now fitted along with 4motion four wheel drive.
EXTERNAL
Looking at this example you find it hard to believe its fifteen years old with its muscle stance wrap around front colour coded bumper housing a unique centre chrome panel. With xenon headlamps chip and crack free along with a slatted lower scoop panel that screams power and luxury all rolled into one. With body panels finished in Diamond Black Pearl (PAINT CODE LC9Z) They all sit beaming and uniform, Along with being free from dents and scuffs. The side door and rear scuff panels running down each flank sitting tight and straight along with the subtle lower sill protectors which gracefully raise upwards around the rear wheel arches. Colour coded door handles and directional indicator come electric rear view door mirrors all present in the best of condition. All door rubbers sit bright and fresh also crease free, External glass exhibits the ‘VW’ logo ensuring originality’s preserved. With subtle tinting to the rear side and back windows to enhance the appeal. With a colour coded rear bumper with the added skirt moulded across the base sculpting around the centre stage twin chrome tail pipes which sit most elegantly. With all rear badges sitting present and correct with vim and vigour. The boot spoiler equally houses the high level brake light again sitting as intended.
INTERNAL
With the drivers or passenger side doors open you are greeted with the silver embossed ‘R32’ sill protectors inviting you into the cockpit, With unmarked black factory leather interior front and rear along with black stitching, Head rests carry the customary ‘R’ logo, Bolsters on both front seats sit tall and proud. Both front seats also have the air lumber support feature which works as intended, Tilt mechanism on both front seats works with ease, The black high profile interior carpet showing little wear thanks to crafted Volkswagen over mats fitted front and rear. Front seats are heated as expected adding that touch of luxury and a benefit too many. Black door cards with crafted leather and silver pin stripes sit in immaculate condition on both drivers and passenger side. The dash presents very well showing originality has been preserved with all switchgear and trim working well and showing little signs of use, Digital climate control works as intended along with the Volkswagen media infotainment system which houses colour satellite navigation amongst its many features. With auto lights and wipers all working as they should, This vehicles packed with features along with the legendary ‘R’ design flat bottom steering wheel which again only shows very very slight wear. Centre console runs between both front seats and houses a cubby box come armrest, Leather clad handbrake leaver and leather gearknob show minimal wear. With a deep set drivers binnacle housing black backed dials with white symbols with the tachometer housed to the left along with the fuel and temperature gauges sitting centre stage, A digital square display sits above and works well displaying 61847 miles from new, To the right the speedometer sits. Overall this is an original example clearly been looked after and not abused.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Having the powerhouse 247bhp Electronic(multi point) fuel injection 3. 2 litre six cylinder double overhead camshaft cast iron petrol engine fitted producing 320nm of torque mated to a six speed manual gearbox and having 4motion all wheel drive. The engines smooth crisp and sounds beautiful, Power delivery’s precise and plentiful regardless of town driving or if a more spirited open road approach takes your fancy. The clutch and gearbox are light yet precise making the overall drive enjoyable.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Sitting on original Volkswagen 10 spoke silver 18 inch alloy wheels which had a full refurbishment some years ago and present in overall very good condition, With matching ‘Firestone Firehawks Z90M’ tyres on all four corners in as new condition having covered very little miles along with the space saver housed within the spare wheel well, Original tools are still present within the spare wheel wells customary factory fitted insulation come storage trays. Original factory ‘Vehicle Identification Certificate’ remains in place and attached to the boot floor. Having calliper vented disc brakes to the front and calliper solid disc brakes to the rear along with traction control and dual split ABS this hot hatch will bring you to a standstill comfortably and within a controlled manner. Callipers front and rear have also been painted blue looking exquisite.

This examples one of the very last of the Mk5 R32 golf models, A stunning example and an equally agile model suited to any walk of life. First being registered on the 12th January 2009 and only having 2 former keepers the originality has been preserved throughout. Having covered on 61847 miles from new. With the original specific ‘R32’ dealer embossed service pack only available with this model which includes all various dealer leaflets and booklets.
