The Philip Irving-designed HRD 500cc Meteor utilised a lightweight single-cylinder OHV engine and was introduced in 1935
The Series A Meteor was capable of 90mph which, in 1936, was quite remarkable
Whilst most motorcycle manufacturers pre-WWII were building rigid-framed bikes, Vincent were developing pioneering, rear-sprung examples
The Stevenage factory built the Meteor model up until the company phased out the HRD brand in 1950
This relatively early bike was dispached from the factory in 1939
An older restoration with correct numbers verified by the VOC and still retains its original oil pump
Same owner since 2008, dry stored in a private Collection since then so will require some recommissioning before use
Engine turns over with good compression
Large history file including old 1942 RF60 'buff' logbook, old MOTs, old V5s, old receipts, manuals and other associated paperwork
