EXTERIOR
A hand-crafted mid-engine sports car inspired by one of the 1960s’ fastest racing icons, the Lola T70. Blending period charm with a more advanced chassis and drivetrain, the Gardner Douglas T70 is as at home on modern roads as it is on track – weather permitting, of course. With its Lola-inspired aesthetics and deep red hue, this 2023-registered example looks nothing short of sensational against our studio backdrop. In the hands of just one keeper the car has driven only 4 miles from new. The lightweight body panels present in great order and are left blank for the new keeper’s livery of choice.

INTERIOR
The spartan interior is equipped with immaculate Sparco bucket seats trimmed in black leather, 4-point Willans race harnesses, an array of classic Smiths gauges, and little else. Saving on weight but certainly adding to the character and feel of this road-legal race car, the T70 is devoid of any sound deadening, carpets, or glass.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
At its heart is a brand new 6. 2-litre Chevrolet LS3 with individual throttle bodies and a dry sump system. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Porsche G96/ 50 6-speed transmission and Wavetrack LSD, a perfect match for the 430hp+ V8 powerplant. With only 4 miles under its belt the car is ready to be run-in and very much enjoyed by its next custodian.

HISTORY FILE
This beautiful GDT70 was painstakingly built to the owner’s exacting specification from the ground up over a five-year period; it was then registered for the road in March 2023. Unfortunately, due to recent ill health the car’s first and only keeper is no longer able to drive, and so it was trailered to us with a mere 4 miles showing on the odometer. The accompanying History File is complete with invoices documenting every component used in the build, from the Gardner Douglas spaceframe chassis to the Chevrolet LS3 engine.
