Description
First registered August 1992 (K Reg) this 4. 0 Litre Jaguar Sovereign (XJ40) in the arguably best colour combination of Regency Red Metallic with Barley Hide and fitted with the correct period Jaguar Cross spoke alloy wheels shod with a good set of Michelin tyres. Just driven almost 200 miles to be with us it performed without fault and cruised effortlessly at 2, 250 rpm at 70 mph.
The XJ40 was, at the time, the most extensively tested vehicle the Jaguar Car Company had ever developed. Designs for the XJ40 pioneered significant improvements to how Jaguar cars were designed, built, and assembled. Among these improvements was a 25% reduction in the number of bodywork panels required per car resulting in not only a more efficient assembly process but also a weight saving and a stiffer structure.
Fitted with Cruise Control, Electrically Adjustable Seats and Mirrors it is a very comfortable place to be.
The original Jaguar Service Record and Warranty Booklet are present showing 12 Main Dealer Stamps to 70, 000 miles. Plus, it comes with a host of previous MOTs, a collection of receipts and the invoices it has collected along the way. The current MoT expires at the end of January 2025
This represents a great opportunity to purchase a little piece of England and as values go, prices are only going one way. Get one before the price rises, (there are not many of these left now) and enjoy the luxury that only a Jaguar can give, as well as the power, smoothness and performance of the magical 4. 0 engine.
