We are very pleased to offer this fantastic 1976 Austin Mini 1000cc MK3. Finished in the completely seventies Sand glow brown with matching brown vinyl trim. Less is more with subtle seventies styling and this example looks as it was intended. It has only covered 60k in 48 years with just four previous owners with the last family owning it for over 10 years. It is accompanied with a service history folder which has service receipts and previous MOT certificates and the original owners handbook. This is a genuine MK3 Mini with all its correct numbers, FE number, body tag and commission number. It has recently benefitted from having many new parts and a paint work refresh, it has not been restored it is a survivor example that is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
Genuine Mk3 Minis are very collectable, and make an excellent Classic proposition. They offer the pure Mini driving experience with the right levels of evolution over the earlier cars that make them very easy to use on modern roads and more than capable of keeping up with modern traffic. On the road this Mini is a super slice of seventies nostalgia, the engine is very quiet and holds a very healthy oil pressure and produces lively performance. It also has electronic ignition so she just starts on the key instantly. The gearbox is also very smooth. It benefits from having basically all new running gear which includes a very useful Cooper "S" disc brake upgrade, 5 new tyres, new suspension, brakes and rear subframe amongst other parts giving long term peace of mind and a positive ride.
The interior is very well preserved and apart from a a recent carpet set is completely original. The original three clock binnacle is all present and correct as is the correct steering wheel.
The Mini has a very solid shell and was Ziebart wax injected when it was new which has preserved it very well indeed. It has the correct vented sills, body coloured floor pans and untouched boot floor. The engine bay has been detailed to a high standard and the paint is well presented, not perfect with the odd minor blemish and battle scar but very good and easily capable of holding its own at any event. If you want a slice of the pure Mini driving experience than this one may be just for you.
The Mini has been fully checked, driven, serviced and tuned. It will be supplied with a full MOT and is of course MOT and Tax exempt.
