Here we have another fantastic, very low mileage 986 Boxster 2. 7 in a classic colour combination – Guards Red with black leather. T24 MRF was first registered on 1st January 2002, delivering a very Happy New Year to its first lady owner, who kept her Boxster for over 13 years to May 2015, by which time the mileage had reached just 37, 000 miles, an average of less than 3, 000 miles per year. The second owner kept T24 MRF for nearly 6 years, and it has had just two further keepers. The last owner purchased the car from the well known dealer KGF Classics in January 2023 at 40, 100 miles, but a recent house move to a more rural location on Exmoor has convinced him that it no longer suits his needs, or the state of the some of the roads in the National Park!
Now showing just 42, 456 miles, the car remains in fabulous condition throughout, the service book showing 15 stamps for routine maintenance over the years, alongside another 15 for brake fluid changes, condition reports and airbag checks. In July 2021 at 39, 000 miles, the IMS bearing was replaced with an upgraded EPS Eternal bearing, along with a new clutch and rear main seal (RMS). The last service in February 2024 was a Major with spark plugs, drive belt and brake fluid change, carried out by local specialist SCS Porsche. We will conduct a full inspection of the car before sale.
The Guards Red paintwork is in excellent condition throughout. The black leather interior is virtually unmarked, with no significant wear to the leather seats, perfect dash and door cards, and no wear to the carpets. The black fabric hood was replaced in November 2021 with an upgraded item with heated glass rear window, and is in perfect condition with no creases. The 17″ twist spoke wheels have been refurbished and new N5 rated Pirelli PZero Rosso tyres fitted in December 2023 just a few hundred miles ago.
On the road, T24 MRF drives superbly, with supple suspension, talkative steering and precise handling. The brakes are powerful with a nice firm pedal, having had new discs and pads fitted in May 2021. The clutch is light and progressive, and the car is free from any untoward rattles, knocks or creaks from the suspension, which can affect these cars as they age.
