Engine no. CB125TE-2005574

Honda introduced its first twin-cylinder 125 – the C90 – in 1958 and this basic type would remain a fixture of the range into the 1970s. From 1973 onwards though, Honda offered only single-cylinder models in the 125 class, before reintroducing a twin – the CB125T Super Dream – for 1978. Like its predecessors, the new Dream was powered by a short-stroke single-overhead-cam engine, which now delivered a maximum output of 12bhp (three horsepower less than before) to meet UK learner legislation. Other changes included a redesigned frame featuring Pro-Link rear suspension; Comstar wheels; and the deletion of 6th gear. Snappily restyled in the then fashionable angular idiom, the CB125T revved to an amazing 13, 000rpm and provided all the two-wheeled thrills that a 17-year-old could wish for, albeit only up to a maximum speed of around 70mph.

Believed to be original and unrestored, this tidy Honda CB125T was acquired by the late owner in August 2014. The machine's condition suggests that the odometer reading of 4, 957 miles may well be genuine; nevertheless, prospective purchasers must satisfy themselves with regard to the machine's originality and condition prior to bidding. It is not known when the Honda last ran, but the engine does turn over (the battery is dead). The Brealey Smith handlebar fairing is an attractive period feature. Accompanying paperwork includes the most recent MoT certificate (expired September 2015); a current V5C Registration Certificate; photocopy old V5C; and a gov. uk MoT history printout recording tests dating back to 2006 at 3, 023 miles. It should be noted that the frame number is incorrectly recorded on the V5C (missing the '2' from the start of the serial number).
