Nice old pre-war Norton ES2
Fitted with Manx tank from new
Continuation logbook present
Old style V5C on file
First introduced into the Norton range in 1928, the ES2 shared many of its mechanicals with the CS1 but had an OHV engine made throughout it's existence with a more up to date specification than the Model 18.
On offer is a very charming old warrior of a pre-war 1939 Norton ES2, this ES2 left the works and dispatched to an agent in Hebden Bridge. The Norton was ordered with a speedo and bizarrely a Manx tank. Not much history is known about the bike until the continuation logbook in 1949 when a Mr Dawson purchased the machine. It appears that Mr. Dawson did not hang onto it long as the new owner in late ‘49 was a Mr House. Mr House kept the machine until he sold it to a Mr Halsall who in turn kept it until 1984, when Mr Kirkham purchased it and then into the hands of Mr McGrath in 1993. The late vendor purchased the Norton in 2003, as with many other machines for his private collection. It has not been used for many years and will require some light recommissioning before use. It’s offered with an old style V5C continuation logbook and a certificate from the Science Museum in Swindon.
