PIAGGIO APE 500MP “TUK TUK” 1970’s ALL WORKS WITH FOLDING STALL

This cute little “Ape” is totally original and unrestored and you can even earn a wage with its candy stripe canopy stall, earn, play, promote, shows, rallies, road runs the options are endless.
1970’s model, 190cc engine with 4 speed manual gears and reverse, starts and runs very well, it will carry 500kg, a proper Italian mini work horse. The “MP” model denotes “Motore Posteriore” a larger rear mounted engine fitted over the rear axle instead of under the seat in the cab, makes for a quieter ride and much easier to access for servicing.
We used this as a wedding prop pick & mix sweety stall last summer and created a simple wooden frame and candy stripe weather resistant stall cover as seen in the pics, this all folds flat and is attached without drilling the rear body of the Ape, it was a real people magnet with folk around it all day gabbing pics and sweets. The canopy and frame are included in the sale.
Came to us direct from the UK’s most prominent Ape importers “Morgan’s Customs & Classics”, it’s been cleaned up and remains very original and unrestored, a completely genuine example.
Works as it should, the side lights, headlight, horn, indicators, wiper, dash warning lights work correctly. The foot brakes are good and lock up if pushed hard, the handbrake is very good. A new battery fitted, both doors open and click shut, even the windows open and close with working original catches.
Parts are readily available on the net, admittedly mostly from Italy rather than off the shelf, but you can get everything you need posted to your door.
It’s very much as it arrived from Italy, some tinkering may be required, we haven’t inspected it or driven it very far but it fired right up after a long rest in the barn and everything is working without a problem, pics outside the shed on concrete taken 5th May 2024, other pics taken earlier and you can see its unchanged, sold as a collector’s item in running order, it has a NOVA import number and is all correct if you want to register it for the road.
We have sold a few of these machines over recent years and this is generally one of the better ones we have had, it has great tyres and spare wheel, still got its jack and tools, still has its dash storage bins, it seems to have led a charmed life. We also have a PDF service manual in English.
In summary, it’s incredibly good fun, very eye catching and will be a real talking point at shows, events and rallies, original and unrestored, it has the potential to earn a few quid, you can’t buy much for under four grand these days that ticks all those boxes.
ADVERTISING OPTION
We also have a removable folding platform so you can use the Ape as an advertising vehicle, it’s a very cheap form of advertising. When not required the boards fold flat and can be stored inside the load bed or stood up against a wall. Nothing has been adapted or drilled on the Ape, this option is available for an additional £295 (pics shown are library pics from another Ape).

All viewings are exclusively by timed APPOINTMENT ONLY, we do not have a showroom or display area, items may have to be brought from our secure storage to view and advance notice will be required.
