1931 MG C-Type Montlhéry Midget – Chassis C0278
A Unique Opportunity to Own a One-of-One MG with Factory Racing DNA
This extraordinary MG C-Type Montlhéry Midget is far more than just 1 of the 26 known survivors—it is a one-off commission with direct links to MG’s record-breaking EX120.
Originally ordered by MG development figure Jimmy Palmes and record-breaker George Eyston, C0278 was the only C-Type supplied as a rolling chassis, allowing Palmes' firm, Jarvis & Sons, to create a bespoke coach built body. Registered as PL 9386, it was the company demonstrator, driven and developed personally by Palmes.

Restoration Process:
The restoration of C0278 was carried out by the Potter family, well-known collectors of pre-war MGs.. A 2016 restoration focused on competition readiness, with attention to detail and authenticity. The car was fitted with a period Centric supercharger and underwent extensive work to ensure it was race-proven and event-ready. Post restoration events include Tripple M and VSCC competition, along with at Montlhéry (France), appearances at Brooklands, and participation in concours events.

C0278 has a rich competition history, having participated in numerous prestigious events. The car has completed laps at Montlhéry, a historic racing circuit in France. It has also made appearances at Brooklands, the world's first purpose-built motor racing circuit. Additionally, C0278 has a history of participating in concours events, showcasing its exceptional condition and historical significance.
