Here for sale is my 1990 VW Golf GTi mk2 8 valve with power steering in metallic black. It's mot'd until May 2012. Currently on SORN but can tax if required. It's covered 148k miles and has a comprehensive service history with lots of receipts, old mot's dating back to its first in 1993 etc. Timing belt replaced at 132k miles.
Mechanically the car is in great shape for it's age, there is a little smoke on start up if it's been standing for a few days as is so often the case with these, but this clears in seconds and it runs very well. I have used it for weekly trips to Somerset from Birmingham and it has performed admirably.
The bodywork is very straight and in very good condition, it draws a lot of favourable attention and positive comments. Looks great in gleaming metallic black and is completely unmodified. Wears it's original 15" BBS RA's which are in good condition, they would benefit from refurbishment but look pretty enough as they are.
Interior: Not perfect but not bad, driver's seat bolster has worn slightly in the usual place and the headlining has sagged a little at rear (now glued back into place) but otherwise decent and is original. Please email for further pics. Parcel shelf present and hole-free ;)
Summary - it's been a great car, it looks beautiful, drives exceptionally well and has been 100% reliable. Test drives welcome and recommended for the serious buyer, call me to arrange. I'm in the Birmingham area.
