Hello , L'atelier des 1000 is pleased to present for sale this beautiful Renault super five called R5 GT turbo phase 1 in a red configuration with a fabric interior pattern typical of the model .
The GT Turbo replaced the Alpine Turbo in order to compete with the Golf and 205 GTI, and went on to compete in rallies with Alain Oreille and Jean Ragnotti. The car we are offering is of Spanish origin and was registered on 24/ 10/ 1986 and has recently undergone a major restoration. The recently redone paintwork is in perfect condition, the whole car is shiny and has no surface defects. The stickers have been reinstalled as originally fitted and the bodywork seals have been replaced.
The upholstery has also been redone and is in superb condition, as are the carpets. The interior is harmonious and immediately takes you back to the 80's. The dashboard is flawless and the Jaeger instrumentation is functional. The original steering wheel is also in very good condition. The mechanics are in perfect order and the engine compartment is well cared for. The engine was rebuilt 5, 000 km ago. It runs perfectly, starts easily without noise or smoke and revs satisfactorily.
The Garett turbo gives this little 1400 an incredible boost, transforming the city car into a supercharged bombshell. The manual gearbox guides and locks its gears correctly, and the clutch shows no signs of weakness.
The running gear is in very good condition. The steering shows no abnormal play and the suspension does its job perfectly. The braking is effective and well balanced.
