My Youngtimer presents an iconic 4-seater coupé from the 1970s: a Renault 17 TL.
At a time when MPVs and SUVs didn't exist, family coupes were commonplace. In 1971, Renault unveiled the Renault 15 and Renault 17. The 15 was the entry-level model, while the 17 had a more refined look. Their deliberately sporty lines were not reflected in their engines, which were always accompanied by the legendary Cléon engine, a simple engine that would be found under the bonnet of many models. Our example, equipped with the 90-horsepower Cléon-Fonte carburettor, is presented in its TL finish. Purchased in 1974, this beautiful French car has had 4 owners who have driven it up to 166, 000 kilometres to date, with the engine completely rebuilt at 135, 000 km. Of course, this mileage is by no means a hindrance, as the car has been perfectly maintained, with up to date servicing and a recent change of spark plugs. To complete this already superb picture for a car celebrating its 50th birthday this year, it's good to know that the bodywork is in excellent condition, having recently had a body tour. The leather upholstery, so typical and comfortable in the 70s, is also impeccable. This R17 TL is fitted with new tyres, mounted on superb BWA rims that have just been painted. Last but not least, the car has retained its period options, typical of the 70's, such as electric windows and a towbar for holiday departures. Large photo file available. Don't hesitate to ask. My Youngtimer is in charge of placing the ad, as the vehicle does not belong to us. If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. Sincerely, Calvin Fatin.
