When hearing the type designation 504, many people immediately think of the Berline (sedan). Rightly so, as this is the best-selling variant. The Peugeot 504 was delivered in various body styles: Berline, Break (station wagon), Familiale (seven-seater station wagon) or Commerciale (closed station wagon). A Pick-up was also built in small numbers. In 1969, the Peugeot 504 was named "European Car of the Year". Based on the 504, Sergio Pininfarina designed a beautiful Coupé and Cabriolet variant that was put into production.
This Peugeot 504 is such a beautiful original convertible. The Peugeot 504 is of the B02 type and was sold in France in April 1970. In 2008, the car was tracked down in the Vosges and imported to the Netherlands by 504 Coupé/ Cabriolet specialist Frank Thunnissen. The beautifully lined creation by Pininfarina was resprayed in the original colour Rouge Andalou and fitted with new headlights and rear light units. The Peugeot is in a rare authentic condition and therefore stands head and shoulders above the usual range of this type. The car is identical to how the car was built in the factory 44 years ago down to the smallest detail. For example, note the full set of rubber floor mats and the rare seat belts with (red) pull tabs that are still present. The car has Michelin XAS tyres with a spare wheel with an unused tyre under the boot. There are two sets of original keys and a special horn with dual controls: for the country road and in the city. Chassis and bodywork are in very good condition, which makes the Peugeot steer and drive incredibly tight. The mileage is therefore very likely the original.
This excellently maintained 504 Cabriolet rightly falls into the higher price range.
