Ad text: Ma Youngtimer presents the last Alpine decided by Jean Rédélé, the magnificent Alpine A310 Pack GT. The Alpine A310 is Jean Rédélé's answer to a clientele finding the Alpine A110 not very usable on a daily basis. The A310 was presented in 1971 as a large 2+2 GT, because yes, you could fit two small passengers in the back. Released to replenish Alpine's coffers, it wasn't totally accomplished at first, using the running gear of its predecessor, the A110, which was much lighter, as well as its small 4-cylinder engine. It wasn't until 1976 that we saw a car that was more or less fully developed, with chassis and running gear that had been worked on, and an engine - or rather, a renowned heart that matched it: the legendary V6 PRV, taken from a Renault 30 V6. This big 2. 7-litre V6 PRV enabled the beautiful A310 to build up a fine record of achievements in competition, winning the European and French rallycross championships and the French rally championship. It will also hold the French record for the number of victories in a single season. Great names such as Ragnotti, Fréquelin, Beltoise and Mouton would play the hoopla with this beautiful French car. Our magnificent 1978 example is a 150 bhp Alpine A310 V6, fitted with the rare Pack GT, which was not added at the factory but at a later date, adding wing extensions, rocker panels, a larger front spoiler and an imposing rear spoiler. In a magnificent shade of Toledo Red, the body kit is a delight. To add to its beauty, it is fitted with sublime Gotti wheels on all four corners and a pair of long CIBIE staves. Of course, all the upholstery has been redone to make you feel at ease at the wheel. With 140, 000 km on the clock, the renowned PRV is far from having bowed out and is still in very good health, benefiting from electronic ignition and a modified alternator location. The front and rear axles have been rebuilt, and the two rear tyres are new, so that the car can continue to corner with ease.
