Hello , L'atelier des 1000 is pleased to offer for sale this beautiful first generation Jaguar XKR presented here in an elegant configuration with its silver grey colour and ivory leather interior . Produced in just over 20, 000 units, the XK coupé inherits the lines inspired by the famous E-Type . Designed on the basis of the Jaguar XJS, like the Aston Martin DB7 with which it shares a number of features, this R version is powered by a 4. 0-litre V8 engine developed in collaboration with Ford, which, thanks to the addition of a supercharger, develops a whopping 375bhp.
The model we are offering was registered on 19/ 11/ 1998 and has a clear history as well as a large file of invoices. We have the maintenance booklet and the original booklets as well as the 3 keys. Mechanically the vehicle behaves marvellously, the engine starts easily without noise or smoke and has full power.
The gearbox is supple and smooth, and various work has recently been carried out on the mechanics, including the replacement of the ignition coils and spark plugs. A stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted, which slightly enhances the sound of the V8 without being too intrusive or unpleasant over time.
The running gear has recently undergone a major overhaul and behaves perfectly, firm and precise, in perfect harmony with the car's philosophy. Silent blocks, ball joints, wheel bearings, stab bar bushes, etc. have all been replaced on occasion. The original 18' rims are fitted with tyres that are in good condition. The brakes are perfectly effective and balanced. The discs and brake pads, as well as the brake hoses and handbrake shoes, have recently been replaced. The steering is precise, and the power steering pump and belt were replaced around 1000 km ago. The air conditioning was recharged at the end of 2024 and the battery was replaced last year. The paintwork is in good condition and has retained its original shine.
The electric and heated upholstery is covered in ivory leather, which has recently been refurbished, and the whole interior is harmonious and in very good condition. The woodwork has a slight patina, which adds a certain charm to this typically British interior. The roof lining, which was redone a few years ago, does not show the unfortunate peeling that is usual on these models.
