Ernie Humphries and Charles Dawes began making motorcycles in York Road, Hall Green, Birmingham in 1899. After WWI, the company concentrated on manufacturing one model, the OK Junior. Early bikes were only available as direct drive with the Union 293cc two-stroke engine made by Josiah Parkes & Sons Ltd of the Union Works, Willenhall.
This c. 1920 OK Junior Humphries and Dawes lightweight machine has been part of a collection of motorcycles for many years. Restored to a very high standard by a previous owner to a high standard and that has now mellowed with age. Purchased by the late owner for his collection many years ago, it has not been used since. No documentation has been found for this machine and an age-related number will have to be applied for through the DVLA and VMC scheme. Recommissioning will be required on this machine. To be sold without reserve.
