Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The March Timed Online Auction on Friday the 28th of March, Online. Background:
A rear-wheel drive, mid-engined sportscar based around a lightweight carbon-fibre chassis, the Alfa Romeo 4C caused a sensation when it was revealed in 'concept' form at the Geneva Show in 2011. The production version followed soon after, pleasingly retaining the same catwalk looks, with motivation from a lusty 237bhp version of the 1. 75-litre four-cylinder turbo found in the Giulietta Cloverleaf, mated to a six-speed TCT twin-clutch gearbox. This lightweight, rear-wheel drive junior Italian supercar, was designed by Lorenzo Ramaciotti at the Centro Stile Alfa Romeo (Style Centre) and developed by the factory. The Concept Car was the recipient of a host of International Awards when it was first revealed and the production version, which differed little from the concept, was equally féted, winning the "Most Beautiful Car of the Year 2013" at the 29th International Automobile Festival in France.
The car:
On offer here is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive example finished in gleaming Rosso Competizione over a black leather and Alcantara-trimmed cabin lifted by red stitching, embroidered headrests, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, carbon-fibre instrument surround, and areas of exposed carbon. Its purposeful looks are enhanced by a set of silver finished, 18-inch forged QV alloy wheels, shod with Pirelli P-Zeroes, sitting in front of bright red Alfa Romeo brake calipers.
It was registered to its one and only keeper on the 29th June 2015 and has resided there ever since, being used lightly on dry days and covering only 3, 519 in ten years. Naturally, it has been garaged from new, kept on trickle charge, and safe and dry under a bespoke 4C cover which will be supplied with the car, as will the dealer book pack containing the owners handbook, operating manuals, and the service book which displays details of a minor service early in its life.
Our vendor is well known in motor racing circles and likes his cars to handle exactly as intended, and consequently the 4C was entrusted to the Alfa Workshop to be set-up correctly ensuring the little Alfa's steering and handling are now pin-sharp. The car is currently at Stellantis and You Alfa Romeo in Leicester for a service to make sure that it's on top form and ready for its next lucky owner.
The 4C is special, an ultra-lightweight, decently quick and beautifully-proportioned junior supercar with the dynamic ability to support its looks. They are rare and inevitably sought after, and finding a stunning, one owner, low-mileage car in this colour combination and in this condition, is an opportunity not to be missed.
