Chassis number GD2D1/ 1255-G, engine number 4860-1180. The engine is original, matching numbers. A certificate from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust confirms this. Black exterior with grey leather interior and black carpet.
This magnificent MGB GT V8 is a rare and original V8 with chrome bumpers, produced in only 1, 856 examples. This powerful MGB V8 was sold new with right-hand drive and in purple. Following earlier restorations and overhauls, it was converted to left-hand drive and painted black.
The 3. 5-litre V8 engine, gearbox, overdrive and rear axle were overhauled. The engine was adapted to fast road specification: a free-flow exhaust manifold, oil cooler, electronic ignition and electric fuel pump were fitted. In addition, a rear axle stabiliser kit was fitted to handle the extra power. Since its restoration, the car has covered 37, 992 kilometres.
This MGB GT V8 is in very good condition and drives and sounds exceptional! Its last owner cherished it for 28 years, and its full maintenance history is known and documented. This magnificent MGB GT V8 features an elegant metal dashboard, the original steering wheel with the red/ chrome MG logo in the centre, an original Webasto sliding sunroof and Minilite alloy wheels. The original V8 wheels are also present.
