Lot 231
Property of a deceased's estate
c. 1956 BSA 349cc B31/ DB32 'Gold Star'
Registration no. 8434 WE
Frame no. EB31. 971
Engine no. DB. 32. GS. 1344
This machine's frame is from a circa 1956 BSA B31, while the engine dates from the 1959 model year (date stamped 18th September 1958). Other notable features include a 1956 B31 rear hub and swinging arm, a Lyta fuel tank, and an RR 2T gearbox. The engine turns over but there is a possible issue with the kickstart return spring. The registration dates to 1959; however, the frame and engine number are transposed on the registration document and this error will need to be rectified with the DVLA by the buyer. Also on file is a 1981 MoT certificate and corresponding tax disc, and two old-style V5s showing date of registration as 19/ 10/ 1979. The late owner is the recorded keeper as of November 1979. It should be noted that the HPI erroneously records the year of manufacture as 1959. Also included is a copy of The BSA Gold Star by Mick Walker, a copy of The Gold Star Book, and a Haynes BSA Pre-Unit Singles Maintenance Manual. Following a period of inactivity, this motorcycle will require recommissioning to a greater or lesser extent and thus is sold strictly as viewed.
All lots are sold 'as is/ where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding. Visit the Bonhams Motorcycles website for all pertinent auction information.
