Magnificent TVR 3000 Taimar with a very complete history. Restored and reconditioned in Holland, it comes with stacks of service invoices, photos, original factory invoice and extensive correspondence. It has been loved by one owner for 24 years and comes from a TVR family where 4 TVRs have been maintained with care and dedication over the years. The exterior is very beautiful and a lot of money has been spent in the past to keep the Taimar in this condition. The TVR was delivered new in 'Gold metallic' with Oatmeal upholstery and in 2007 the car was professionally repainted in this original colour. A detailed photographic report is available. The paintwork is still very beautiful and shows only slight signs of use. This colour suits the eccentric exterior perfectly. Revolution 15" wheels with new tyres have been fitted and look great. The original Taimar wheels and tyres are also present. In any case, the 3000 Taimar is an exclusive: 395 examples were produced in 3 years. The Taimar has a large tailgate, allowing easy access to the boot, and the interior is superb, in keeping with the image of a hand-built British sports car. The dashboard features beautiful, classic Smiths gauges and, from the large centre console, protrudes the chrome gear lever on which your hand automatically falls. The seats are covered in alcantara and offer excellent seating comfort. The last owner used other seats over the years and kept them in plastic. That's why these original seats still look so good with so little wear. After the rebuild, the dashboard was re-covered and everything looks very neat. The original sunroof is also in good condition and works as it should. The TVR has been in the Netherlands since 1993 and was converted to an LHD in subsequent years. The chassis has been restored and is still in immaculate condition. The powerful Essex V6 was overhauled in 2004 by Ford V6 guru Krijn Verzijl, who can only dream of these engines. Everything was redone at the time and this is described in the last owner's notes, including several photos. The engine has been fitted with modern updates such as a stronger timing assembly and a revised Weber carburettor with manual choke. Built for no less than 22 years in a variety of models, the Essex is very reliable. Thanks to the stainless steel exhaust, the V6 emits a very pleasant sound. The 4-speed gearbox has been replaced by a rebuilt Sierra 5, which means fewer revs on the motorway, which is a big plus. The original 4-speed gearbox is still present.
