Description
Subject car has been extensively prepared as per MkI Twin Cam Group 2 Touring Car FIA homologation. After numerous class wins, the body was restored retaining its steel arch extensions and reinforced with welding and Group 4 rear strut mounts prior to be fitted with an 8-point roll cage. Weight was addressed by polycarbonate glass, plastic door cards with lifters deletion, door underside drains and fiberglass engine / trunk lids. The LBA-specified Lotus Twin Cam engine was overhauled by Kyrkos Motorsports with forged pistons, rods and crankshaft to be fitted with dry sump and trunk-mounted oil canister. Along with its Lucas ignition coil, twin Weber 45 DCOEs, Facet pumps, handmade exhaust manifold and free-flow exhaust of maximal ground clearance, the engine’s output was dyno-tested on February of 2024 to reach 152 PS at 7360rpm and 170 Nm at 5835 rpm. Power is transmitted through a fully syncromeshed 4-speed gearbox to a 5. 1 LSD and via its English axle to be delivered at its rear 8Jx13 Revolution wheels with hillclimb soft-gum Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. The front wheels are suspended by fully adjustable shocks and springs to be steered by a quick ratio 2. 5 lock to lock rack and pinion and an RSS detachable wheel. Electrics include a lightweight loom, gel battery, center console switchboard, VHF-equipped intercom and a passenger door mounted Retro Trip meter. Safety is ensured by currently valid seats with 4-point harnesses, valid fire extinguisher, a safety fuel tank and a roll-over valve. Once restored, the MkI was treated to a livery honoring RAC Lombard MkI of T. Makinen – H. Liddon registered as 00098M. The car is now offered fully certified by the Hellenic Motorsport Association fully prepared for any hillclimb event.
