Introduced by Yamaha in 1984 off the back of their successful GP results with Kenny Roberts
The bike was basically a detuned and more approachable version of the YZR500 race bike
Fitted with a powerful four-cylinder, 500cc, two-stroke engine with Yamaha's variable exhaust port timing YPVS system
Race suspension and lightweight, track-inspired handling made the bike a fearsome machine
This matching numbers, UK-registered from new example is presented in original and unrestored condition
In running order with a current MOT until March 2026
Presented in very good condition with 18, 000 recorded miles and two original keys
Same owner since 1986, always garaged, never used in the wet and complete with its original toolkit
Engine rebuilt in 2012 using genuine Yamaha parts
Documents include MOTs dating back to 1988, photo of engine rebuild parts, old V5, original owners handbook and original workshop manual
Great example and very rare to find in this condition
