For sale: Volkswagen Beetle "Standard" Oval (1956) This rare Volkswagen Beetle "Standard" Oval was manufactured on 19 November 1956 in Wolfsburg, Germany and delivered to a Volkswagen dealer in Mannheim. Around 1961, the vehicle crossed the 'Iron Curtain', the physical and ideological boundary separating Eastern and Western Europe during the Cold War. During this period, the Beetle was mainly driven in Gera, near Jena, as evidenced by GDR documentation mentioning a single owner. After its rediscovery, this Oval model underwent a complete restoration over several years, sparing no expense. The result is an authentic 1956 Beetle Standard Oval, both mechanically and aesthetically. All components, including the braking system, electrical system, engine and transmission, are in perfect working order. Key Features: Technical condition: Fully restored, preserving original details.
