The Elise provides an engaging driving experience and excellent fun with its nimble handling and ride height of 470 mm. Designed by Lotus’s then Head of Design, Julian Thomson, and chief engineer, Richard Rackham, the Series 1 Elise was produced between 1996 and 2001. Its fiberglass body and bonded aluminium chassis meant that the car weighed a mere 725 kg. The 1. 8L K-series engine produces 118 bhp and a 0-60 mph time of 5. 8 seconds.
This example left the Hethel factory at the end of 1998 in Lotus’s iconic yellow and green colour scheme: Mustard Yellow ‘Spice’ metallic with a Racing Green leather interior and cloth soft top.
