Description

History When the Porsche 911 (originally 901) was unveiled at the Frankfurt IAA on 12 September 1963, it quickly became clear that this refined sports car would be a success. By 1973 a total of 81, 032 Porsche 911s, also known as the Ur-Porsche and the F‑model, were built. The Porsche 911E introduced in 1969 as the first in the history of the sports car maker the intake manifold injection to optimise performance and fuel economy. The now available 140 hp made the Porsche 911E around 215 km/ h and enabled a 0–100 km/ h time of 9 seconds. This example is the 294th produced in 1973 with injected engine. In 2014 and 2015 this 911 was restored for its Swiss customer and subsequently technically prepared by Goodtimer for the veteran inspection. Body and paint: The bodywork is in flawless condition and presents a high standard of restoration. The paint in the original colour Anthracite Metallic 643 is near‑new. Interior: The interior of this model was completely renewed in genuine leather. The seats are freshly padded and equipped with safety belts – both front and rear. The complete instrumentation is complemented by the matching Classic DAB radio. The original Porsche 4‑spoke steering wheel with wooden rim lends the sporty interior an upscale touch. Engine and mechanics: The 140 hp injected engine was overhauled during the restoration by Porsche CPR Fallbrook and fitted with a new clutch and exhaust system. The compression and exhaust readings are perfect. Suspension: The suspension and brakes were part of the restoration and show perfect figures on the test bench. The underbody is undamaged and the rear seat shells were renewed during the restoration. Driving experience: The Porsche 911 is a true sports car, one you can even drive with your children. The remarkable safety of this over‑50‑year‑old sports car bears testament to the early competence of the Porsche workshop. The 911 is exceptionally stable and also easy and relaxed to drive. Recommendation: The Porsche 911 is regarded as the style icon of sports car construction. Never before has a sports car been produced for over 50 years with the same concept and the same aura. That makes such a vehicle as valuable and as safe as gold.
