The second-generation “Vanquish” was introduced in 2012, this time based on Aston Martin’s existing VH platform – similar to the one that underpinned the DB9. Designed by Marek Reichman and made in the Gaydon facility, the VH platform Vanquish was designed to fill the shoes of the discontinued DBS.
It was unveiled at the 2012 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este held on the shores of Lake Como, Italy and shared many of the characteristics of the acclaimed Aston Martin One-77.
Power comes from an uprated version of the 6. 0 litre V12 engine through a fully stainless steel exhaust system with ‘Active Exhaust Valves’ producing some 565bhp, propelling the car from a standing start to 60mph in just 4. 1 seconds with a top speed of 183mph through a 6 speed ZF gearbox mounted within the rear axle to give a more balanced 50/ 50 weight distribution, critical to ideal handling.
This particular car was originally owned by Aston Martin Lagonda before coming to this region in 2014 where it has remained and is finished in gleaming Ceramic Grey with a beautiful Obsidian Black ‘Caithness’ Leather Interior with contrasting Galena Grey silver stitching and Tailors Grey Alcantara. The interior is further enhanced by use of Piano Black fascia’s and Polished Alloy Switching.
