1966 Ford Transit MK1 V4 1700cc LWB Twin side rear doors. One piece lift up tailgate
Step back in time with this incredibly rare 1966 Ford Transit Mk1, now available at Fine Lines Classic Cars. This very early exceptional example has recently emerged from a museum and was previously cared for by the German fire brigade. A true survivor, the condition difficult to describe. This van has never been restored. Incredibly, it doesn’t seem possible but has never had any welding repairs in its life with all original chassis, outriggers, floors and sills etc. All the body panels, wings, doors, bonnet, tailgate and valances appear to be 100% original with absolutely no signs of any previous repairs with factory fresh panel fit. The paintwork is beautiful with a glorious lustre and depth of shine. The interior retains its original front seats maintaining its authentic vintage charm. The van drives very well with its original 1700cc V4 engine running very well.
From the information we have with the van it appears to have covered a very low mileage of approximately 46000 miles, which would explain the incredibly original condition however we have been unable to substantiate this so cannot be guaranteed. Absolutely any inspection welcome to form your own opinion of this amazing MK1 Transit.
The condition of this van is remarkable, showcasing the kind of integrity rarely seen in classic commercial vehicles. Whether you are a collector, a Ford enthusiast or simply someone who appreciates British automotive heritage, This MK1 Transit offers an unrepeatable opportunity to own a true piece of motoring history.
Classed as a historic vehicle it benefits from Mot exemption and free road tax.
