Description
COD LAF00001
In 1974, Percival Lafer, owner of a major Brazilian furniture company (founded in 1927 and still in existence), decided to build a replica of the British Car and Classic cars of the 1940s and 1950s. He chose the Beetle as the basis, the most economical solution.
It had a 1. 6-liter engine with twin carburetors, 54 horsepower, a top speed of 130 kilometers per hour, and a fiberglass body. The car was a great success and was produced until 1990. Of the approximately 4, 300 cars produced, an estimated 1, 000 were exported. A good portion of these ended up in Europe (about 150 are known to have ended up in Germany, of which about thirty survive).
The car is visible in our showroom in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
