1992 Dallara F392 Formula 3
Now at Veloce Classic Italia – A landmark in Formula 3 history
At Veloce Classic Italia, we are proud to present one of the most important Formula 3 single-seaters of the early 1990s: the Dallara F392, formerly driven by a young Giancarlo Fisichella during the 1992 Italian Formula 3 Championship.
This is far more than just a racing car—it is a milestone from the dawn of a Grand Prix career, and a striking example of Dallara’s engineering dominance in the F3 world.
A pivotal machine in racing heritage
• Chassis Excellence – The F392 marked a turning point in Formula 3 design, with its updated aerodynamics, improved torsional rigidity, and race-winning capabilities. It became the car of choice for most of the grid during the 1992 season.
• Fisichella’s First Taste of Victory – After a setback earlier in the season with his Ralt RT36, Fisichella was handed the Dallara F392 for the final race at Imola. Despite torrential rain, he delivered a masterclass in wet-weather driving, claiming his first ever Formula 3 victory—a defining moment in his rise to Formula 1.
• Period-Correct & Ready for Historic Events – Powered by the Alfa Romeo Twin Spark engine, paired with a Hewland 5-speed dog-leg gearbox, the car offers a visceral, analogue driving experience that’s pure early-’90s F3. It has been meticulously preserved in its original configuration.
A living relic of motorsport evolution
This car is a direct link to the golden years of European Formula 3, when young talents like Fisichella, Trulli, and Coulthard were battling their way into the international spotlight. Dallara’s F392 was the dominant force of the grid, securing countless pole positions and podiums across the continent.
