Description
History: With only 830 examples built, the 220 SE Ponton Coupé is one of the rarest post-war Mercedes-Benz models. This specimen was delivered in 1959 to Max Hoffmann, the legendary Mercedes importer in New York, and handed over to the famous author Marjorie Moore. Before a German medical professor living in Switzerland took possession of the car, it was housed in a Danish museum. Body and paint: With the aim of giving the car new life, the owner entrusted it to Mercedes-Benz Classic Autohaus Hahn for a complete restoration. For 295, 000 euros, the car was completely restored between 2016 and 2020 and rebuilt down to the last detail. The vehicle matches the original in every detail and is ready for all kinds of classic car concours events and presentations. Engine and mechanics: The smooth-running six-cylinder engine seats the occupants comfortably, wrapped in premium leather, to the desired destination. Recommendation: A detailed report is available for review for further details. The vehicle is EU-taxed.
