White paint with a red pinstripe, red interior. 8. 2L engine (500 ci). Automatic 3-speed gearbox.
A true 1970s icon, this is the last generation of Eldorados that are genuinely gigantic, with GM's last big-block V8. Interior in very good condition, ultra-luxurious, spacious and comfortable. It is a front-wheel-drive car, so there is no driveshaft running through the cabin; the front seat is therefore a huge bench spanning the full width of the car with no divider.
The engine and gearbox run without any issues, no electrical problems, 4 disc brakes that stop extremely well.
It is mechanically impeccable, with numerous recent works:
- stainless steel exhaust
- aviation-grade brake hoses changed in 2019
- A/ C compressor replaced in 2019
- new tyres
- new front shock absorbers
- new battery
It has just passed its MOT (roadworthiness test) and has been serviced prior to sale by Atelier Classic Auto (specialising in classic vehicles).
The paint is original (so 50 years old...), so no nasty surprises; the trade-off is the presence of a few small cosmetic defects that the buyer may have repaired if desired.
It is on a collector/ historic vehicle registration.
