Description
Ghia 1500 GT 1963
Pre-series: surely number 3 or 4, identifiable by its different sill line, the arrangement of a few switches, its superb rear bumpers and its lower ride height than the later ones.
One of the 103 survivors out of a little over 800 built in total.
Italian origin
Ghia (and not Fiat) French-registered collector car in my name since 2019
Bought and put on hold about ten years ago, then a major recommissioning with a specialist (more than 200 photos and €15, 000 of invoices)
- replacement of front-right bodywork + radiator support and battery
- new clutch + 5-speed gearbox (final drive identical but closer ratios). I am supplying the original 4-speed gearbox
- window regulators for left and right
- servicing of the electrical circuit and heating system
- engine overhaul + new hoses, belts and fluids
- cleaning of the fuel tank + carburettor + installation of an electric fuel pump (the original mechanical pump still in place)
- dismantling and overhaul of the front and rear suspensions + brakes
- installation of a cut-off switch
- exhaust overhaul
I also had the black sky upholstery replaced with natural leather and new carpets, including in the boot.
I also had two front lap belts and a fire extinguisher fitted.
Battery and four recent tyres.
Starter recently rebuilt by a Fiat specialist (the brushes used to stick)
This car has been regularly on the road since 2019.
I have never had the slightest problem with it.
Appraised for my AXA insurance in 2021: €60, 000
Asking price €52, 000 (including a few rare items such as a windscreen)
Possibility of trade-in (depending on condition with a cash adjustment on my part) for a Facel 3 Cabriolet or a Facellia 2+2 Coupé without custodes.
