This generation of Jaguar XJ, or the X350 as it is known internally, was launched in 2003. Featuring a bonded and riveted aluminium monocoque chassis that is both 40% lighter and 50% stiffer than that of the outgoing X308 model, the styling of its aluminium body panels are a gentle development of the rounded, hooded-headlight style that had become the XJ range’s signature look. Both short and long-wheelbase versions were available to order depending on whether agility or decadence was your aim.
Manufactured in September 2005, this particular X350 example was very recently repatriated to the UK from Japan where vehicle mechanics are assiduously diligent in their work and owners take obsessive levels of pride in their cars.
The Onyx White finish is still resplendent plus the underside and suspension are remarkably well preserved as the car has spent its entire life on roads that are free of road salt during the winter months.
The colour-coded front grille surround is in excellent condition as is the rest of the bright work. The Bi-Xenon headlamps are undamaged and feature a power wash to keep them clean in adverse weather conditions.
The car's elegant and graceful design is further accentuated by the 18-inch multi spoke alloy wheels which add to its domineering stance. There are no chips, scrapes or other kerbing marks either to distract the eye.
The interior is in astonishingly good condition too with an ice-cold climate control system, electrically operated front seats, steering wheel and pedals, door mirrors and windows. In the rear of the cabin, there’s heated seats, an electric sunblind, manually operated blinds for the side windows plus controls for the air-conditioning.
There are two keys plus a valet key, a UK & Japanese version Jaguar wallet & book pack and a V5C yet to register a single UK owner.
