Description

Hello,

I’m selling my Lancia Beta HPE 2. 0 Injection from April 1983.
Valid MOT (less than 6 months)
Registration in my name
81, 500 km

I bought this car in August 2025. It had been dormant for about 7 years. Its previous owner fell for it at the time: he went to fetch it, parked it in the garage, then hardly used it, only started it from time to time. He did, however, ensure the timing belt service was carried out in May 2020 at 77, 742 km.
The car was stored dry until my purchase (at 77, 789 km). Its owner parted with it because of age: he could no longer climb into it.

Once in my possession, I carried out the basic maintenance. After 3, 500 km, I can say it’s really very pleasant: the Lampredi engine runs beautifully, and the car is perfect for relaxed drives. It’s comfortable, spacious and sporty, with that Italian 80s soundtrack. The gearbox is excellent: no play or stiff spots to report. A versatile, endearing car, and easy to drive.

The car has never been restored and will soon celebrate its 43rd birthday: you’ll forgive a few age-related flaws. Regarding corrosion (often present on Italian cars of that era), it has been relatively spared thanks to storage. Note a few marks and areas that could be addressed for the more meticulous, but nothing alarming or urgent. I also include with the car a driver’s door and a front skirt.

Inside, the car has been very well preserved. The seating has been redone by one of the previous owners. The only notable defect is the dashboard cracked, probably due to the sun.

On driving, it’s a genuine experience. However, a slight noise on deceleration can be noted, caused by a suspension bush under the gearbox that has probably dried with time. This does not affect handling: the car remains sound, with only a bit of noise in the cabin.

Mechanically, I chose not to replace the timing belt, since it was done in 2020 and the car has hardly been driven since. Of course I asked the opinion of several people: the belt shows no dryness or cracks, so I kept it. Also: some Beta HPE 2. 0s have suffered from overheating issues, this one is not the case; the temperature regulation is very good.

Regarding the history, I have the original booklets that came with the car, as well as invoices from several owners up to 2010. Many components have been redone in the last 15 years, notably the head gasket, replaced in 2013 around 65, 000 km.

It’s a very beautiful original car that just needs to be driven. It has some age-related flaws, but nothing that will stop you from enjoying lovely trips.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
I’m open to a swap, but only for a Peugeot 205 GTI, my dream car.

Best regards,
Calvin Fatin
