Description
The French workshop Jerem Motorcycles wanted to pay tribute to the Ducati 750 SS and 900 SS from 1975.
The angular lines, almost origami-like, of the original 749 have disappeared, replaced by a bespoke body with more classic lines. There are many modifications. Among the highlights: a chromed frame, refurbished suspension, a customised body, LED lighting, a Ducati Panigale paint finish, and Ducati Sport Classic spoked wheels.
The 749 has a particular balance, addictive precision in its steering, its acceleration and braking, which makes it a machine that surprises riders with its discreet performance.
It’s a truly great look, but it required a series of modifications for everything to function perfectly. The front fork was completely rebuilt and internally reworked for optimum handling, while the sliders were swapped so that the Öhlins suspension benefits from the R‑model adjustments and the mounting point of the braking system. It is, of course, the full Brembo range of products, now fitted with bespoke hoses.
The rear shock is also an Öhlins fully adjustable unit, but, like the front, it has been completely redesigned to suit the bike’s new configuration. With modified footrests, a pair of premium Brembo master cylinders and new clip-ons, the rider is ready to take full control.
But it is mainly the aesthetics that impress: Jérémie has long had the knack for grafting a classic café racer tail onto any modern motorcycle, and the result is just as successful on the 749. For a flawless finish, this handmade fibreglass piece, adorned with exceptional leatherwork, incorporates small round LEDs for the brake lights and indicators, revealing a glimpse of the cut‑out frame.
The front part of the tail merges perfectly with the original fuel tank’s flank, whose bodywork has been impeccably finished. Jérémie then had to design a small fairing in harmony with the theme, and he pulled off a masterstroke.
