Same owner for the past 15 years, prior to that the owner bought the 190SL from his friend (the original owner) in the late 80s/ early 90s from South Carolina, USA. Recently all new brake cylinders, new brake hoses, new tyres, new shocks, new front steering components, new carburettors, restored fuel tank, new stainless exhaust system, recent rebuild rear axle and full service and more.
Unmolested, original panels with factory spot welds, matching numbers and a complete original leather interior.
Driven on the weekend, this car is a very fine example of a solid 190SL.
According to factory figures, 25, 881 190SLs were produced from 1955 to 1963. Production peaked in 1956 at 4, 032 cars and 1963 saw the least number produced, 104. About 50 percent of the total number of 190SLs produced are estimated to survive, and restoration promises to preserve them.
