Porsche built just 1, 238 examples of its H-series 911 coupé between August 1974 and July 1975. The car offered here is among the final 20 completed. Registered in Norway from early 1980, it sustained damage to the left-rear quarter panel so was submitted by then-owner Björn Günther to RUF Automobile in Pfaffenhausen, Germany for a total rebuild up to SCR 3. 2 specification.
Between May and October of 1982, the Porsche was stripped to its bare shell and enhanced with SCR Turbo-style bodywork, while the naturally aspirated flat-six was uprated to 3. 2-litre capacity. The original invoice for 30, 000 Deutsche Mark and annotated photographic record of the restoration accompany the car.
Remaining in Norway, the Porsche has been enjoyed by the enthusiastic consigning owner. During their custodianship, the car has been driven on long-distance tours and exhibited at Scandinavian car shows. Furthermore, the 911 heads to auction with the benefit of an engine rebuild completed by marque specialist AutoTech-Sport of Rakkestad.
Please note this lot has entered the EU on a temporary import bond, which must be cancelled either by exporting the lot outside of the EU on an approved Bill of Lading with supporting customs documentation or by paying the applicable VAT and import duties to have the lot remain in the EU.
