A marque that has existed for barely 40 years, Buell travelled a long way in a relatively short time before its demise and recent revival. Founded by Erik Buell, the company established its own unique brand image, building a range of Harley-Davidson-powered sports bikes combining the Milwaukee twin's traditional 'stump pulling' torque with a state-of-the art chassis possessing the dimensions and geometry of a Grand Prix 250. As Buell production steadily increased so did Harley-Davidson's ***** in the company, which it would come to own outright. With H-D's resources behind him, Erik Buell was able to take his unique concept a stage further, introducing an entirely new aluminium-alloy beam chassis on the XB Series in 2002. Innovative as ever, the latter contained fuel within its main frame spars and oil in the swinging arm.
This Buell Firebolt was purchased new by the private vendor. The machine has covered c. 230 miles from new and has since been garaged. Notable features include an upgraded seat, crash bungs, and official Harley Davidson USA 'Stars & Stripes' flag decals, it comes with the original seat. The Buell is currently not running as it needs a new battery and a service having spent many years off the road in dry storage. Sold strictly as viewed, the machine comes with a V5C Registration Certificate, owner's manual, invoice for decals, Buell brochure, and Motor Cycle News Buell road test reprints.
