Description

This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at Race Retro 2026 - Motorcycles on Sunday the 22nd of February, Stoneleigh Park, Stoneleigh Rd, Coventry, CV8 2LG.
Introduced as the replacement for the celebrated MB250, the Adler Favorit represented a clear step forward for Adler in the late 1950s. While retaining the marque’s advanced two-stroke engineering ethos, the Favorit benefitted from a revised frame incorporating an improved swinging-arm rear suspension, delivering enhanced stability and comfort. With a quoted output of 16bhp and a top speed of approximately 73mph, it was a capable and refined middleweight motorcycle for its day.
This 1957 example was acquired by Robin Haigh in 1999 and has been restored at some point during its life. Today it presents as an appealing and characterful machine, further enhanced by a Steib LS200 sidecar.
The accompanying history file includes a current V5C, a dating letter, and a selection of expired MOT certificates and tax discs, providing useful provenance and documentation.
Although the Adler has not been used for some time, it remains in good overall condition and will require recommissioning before returning to active road use.
A rare opportunity to acquire an Adler Favorit, complete with sidecar, offering distinctive engineering, period charm, and strong collector appeal.
