Description
With the model year 1955, the Mercedes-Benz 190 SL made its entry into the world of prestige convertibles. Inspired by the mythical 300 SL “Papillon”, it retained its elegance and presence, but in a more civilized and affordable version. Its 1. 9-liter four-cylinder engine developed 105 hp, offering respectable performance and remarkable smoothness for the time. Its fluid silhouette, its delicately curved lines and its refined interior immediately made an impression on a clientele seduced by its glamorous appearance. True ambassador of Mercedes style in the 1950s, the 190 SL remains today a symbol of timeless elegance and German grand touring.
This 190 SL from 1959 benefited from a complete restoration, both mechanically and in terms of bodywork. A comprehensive file, accompanied by photos, is available to illustrate the very high quality of the work carried out.
