The Suzuki Motor Co. was established in 1909 by Michio Suzuki to produce machinery for the cotton industry, moving on to motorcycles after WWII. These proved to be an immediate success and by the early ’60s were second only to Honda for output. In the 1970s the TS/ GT range of singles, twins and triples was launched, proving to be ‘the last hurrah’ for the large capacity two-stroke engine, with the TS range of trail bikes from 50cc to 400cc providing many future enthusiasts their first taste of motorcycling.
